This Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker (Dicaeum cruentatum) ~ Sepah Puteri Merah was shot at Original Date/Time = 2007:12:31 19:02:03

(7:02 pm , the last sun light of year 2007!)








Only 9cm in size is my last finding of 2007. It was so small and perched so high up, that miss it, it not for my son who pointed it.

World's Smallest Raptor

It is not an OWL.

After some search from the NET, and flipping thro' the guide books, I finally got the bird's ID.

It is Black Thighed Falconet .
(Microhierax fringillarius)
The world's smallest raptor, measuring only 16 cm. That's why known locally as Helang Belalang.
