Couples

Firman Allah SWT;
" Maha Suci Tuhan Yang telah menciptakan makhluk-makhluk semuanya
berpasangan; samada dari yang ditumbuhkan oleh bumi atau dari diri
mereka ataupun dari apa yang mereka tidak mengetahuinya. "
Q.S Yaa Sin : 36

{36. Sanctified is He who has made all pairs of what the earth grows, of themselves, and of those things of which they have no knowledge.}

Animal sex life secret, here.

Surah Yassin, reference here,

36. Limitless in His glory is He who has created opposites in whatever the earth produces, and in mens own selves, and in that of which [as yet] they have no knowledge. (18)

18 - Lit., who has created all the pairs out of whatever the earth produces, and out of themselves, and out of that of which they have no knowledge: a reference to the polarity evident in all creation, both animate and inanimate, which expresses itself in the existence of antithetic and yet complementary forces, like the sexuality in human beings, animals and plants, light and darkness, heat and cold, positive and negative magnetism and electricity, the positive and negative charges (protons and electrons) in the structure of the atom, and so forth. (It is to be borne in mind that the noun zawj denotes both a pair and one of a pair, as explained in note on 13: 3.) The mention of that of which they have no knowledge evidently relates to things or phenomena not yet understood by man but potentially within the range of his comprehension: hence my interpolation, between brackets, of the words as yet.]

Bird Fighting

Apparently they are not fighting but in courtship -bercintalah tu!

"During courtship displays, pair may utter duets, and perform courtship feeding".

But I didn't noticed any food being offered.
I must watch this pair more closely and will keep you inform of what happen next. (if the birds are not shy and show us)

Nothing but birds

All this while I have been labeling this Heron as a Chinese-Pond Heron, actually we never no it while they are in non breading plumage.

This is what I got from WIKI:-
They are in genus Ardeola - of small herons, typically 40-50 cm long with 80-100 cm wingspan.
1) Indian Pond Heron, Ardeola grayii
2) Chinese Pond Heron, Ardeola bacchus
3) Javan Pond Heron, Ardeola speciosa

4) Rufous-bellied Heron, Ardeola rufiventris - found only in SABAH
5) Madagascar Pond Heron, Ardeola idae - of African region
6) Squacco Heron, Ardeola ralloides - Europe and Middle East, wintering in Africa

The first 3 can be found here.
The non-breeding plumage Chonese Pond Heron is like the Javan and Indian pond herons', virtually indistinguishable in the field.

So, my pictures could be any of the 3 species. :D
