There are three Pond Heron species in Malaysia;-
1. Chinese Pond-Heron (Ardeola bacchus) - Migrant
2. Indian Pond-Heron (Ardeola grayii) - Vagrant
3. Javan Pond-Heron (Ardeola speciosa) - Vagrant
With this non-breeding plumage, we can't differentiate it.

Very neat! Never seen a Pond Heron before! It looks a bit like our Green Heron!
