Before the Hari Raya gatering above, I made a quick 2 hours birding trip at the back of Sek. Keb. Kampung Tengah, Temerloh. Wake up early and started walking at 7.00am

The usual back lane gate that I frequent was closed..
because of this new building construction. This two Indonesian workers have to work even on 2nd Raya Holiday.
I have to take another route in front of the school, and welcome by this yellow carpet of fallen angsana flowers.



A short walk later I reached the Rubber Estate with row of rubber trees. Look like nobody taping it for the past few days.


and noticed the water bottle was cut and used as latex collection pot. Good recycling..





My objective of birding that day was met by close encounter with this beautiful Banded Woodpecker (Picus miniaceus)

and I was very lucky to witness this nature phenomena - woodpecker mating.
Here the male jumped on her back...

it was all over in less than 8 seconds.

Ok, we finished doing it, let make a home for our baby...

and they made their home at dead tree. Both of them take turn to dig the hole.

after that woodpecker flew away, I saw this small flock of Black-headed Bulbul(Pycnonotus atriceps) at leaveless tree.

When I tried to have a better look, it flew away.
except for this one which keep on singing...

On my way back, I noticed this Red Grasshawk Dragonfly- (Neurothemis fluctuans) soaking in the morning sun.
and this Warps (Vespa affinis) was having it breakfast on Straits Rhododendron flowers (Melastoma malabathricum).

I just want to test the new features in blogger.
The ‘After the jump’ summaries. Where you write part of article and and the rest after reader click the 'Read more >' logo like the example below

This feature is more useful for blogger that write long text article.
Wordpress implemented this for a long time.
I post mostly pictures and rarely more than a few line, so this don't apply to me.
Anyway I just enable this new enhancement in my blog.

The pink flower is like a small Hibiscus, in fact it is in the same 'Malvaceae' family.

Caesar's Weed (Urena lobata) - Local Name: Kelulut, Pepulut

That small brown fruits have a little spikes that will stuck to your cloth if you pass through this plant. So that why Malay named it 'Pepulut', meaning sticky like a glutinous rice.

Parakeet at Hari Raya - Bayan Nuri

Just back from short raya holiday, and start working today.
Hari Raya Aidil-Fitri never stop me from bird photography. I got this at 10.08am, just after raya prayer at my mother-in law's backyard.
This Long-tailed Parakeet always show-up during Raya holiday (the same species I captured last raya holiday)
