I'm of out of bird picture, so this mammals for today.

Looks like a squirrel with it long bushy tail, but the face and long nose resemble a rat.

What can I say, another failed nesting at my backyard. :( (sob-sob)
I expected the fledgling to appear on Sunday, but when I woke up on Thursday morning and looked over the window, I noticed this. The right part of the nest destroyed and ripped off with strands of nest fibres dangled down there. No chicks movement or their call, just silent.
It was normal nest with happily and noisy chicks feeding when I observed on Wednesday evening.

What caused this, I don't know. Maybe strong wind or night predator?. OGK.

Oriole Pair waiting in vain for their chicks

For two consecutive morning, the female oriole came to this tree, waiting... and waiting and calling.
She called with harsh voice, like this song recorded by David Farrow.

On behalf of the all the birds at my backyard and my family , I express sadness and extend condolences to both Oriole parent on the demise of their two oriole nestling.

It has been one week since the chicks hatched. Now it has grown bigger and the yellow feather start to grow. I expect another 5 days before fledgling.

after feeding, the mother attended to the other end (butt), and picked the faecal sac to be disposed off far from the nest.

Finally two Nestlings were visible yesterday evening.

The orioles pair start feeding the chicks yesterday.
Both male and female keep turn feeding, with a variety of food.

After the failed nesting of Common Iora, my attention is now on this Black-naped Oriole.
The nest is quite high, about 20 feet at Cempedak tree.
Unlike Iora, this Orioles are a bit jittery and will fly away from the nest if I walk from the car to my house. It is difficult to determine the sex as the colours are almost the same.
If we go by average incubation period of 14 days, the chicks feeding will start soon.
