So little and so near

This small bird (size 12cm) is very tame and go near to minimum focusing distance of my telephoto lens.

Bird feeder at Shahzan Inn Fraser's Hill

Here are common birds at the Shahzan Inn bird feeder.
You can easily see Silver-eared Mesia,  Long-tailed Sibia, and Chestnut-capped Laughing thrush. Photographing Fire-tufted Barbet you need to wait and be patient. It will come down when all other birds leave and less crowd.

Fire-tufted barbet

Fire Tufted Barbet (Psilopogon pyrolophus) is a common bird at Fraser's Hill, very responsive to calls.
Getting a decent and low-angle shot is another challenge unless you are willing to wait patiently at the Shahzan  Hotel bird feeder.

All this was photographed in front of Jelai Resort @ Fraser's Hill.

Since I didn't get a pretty photograph of Black-and-crimson Oriole (Oriolus cruentus), I just cut & paste from internet for comparison. This was taken from  Robinson & Chasen, Vols 1 - 4 (1927 - 1939)
My record shot version - perched very high up with back lighted.

Not yet processed the bird picture RAW files, too tired...

Roosting Blue-throated Bee-eater

Beautiful sight - I was so excited and speechless watching this large flock of Blue-throated Bee-eater swirling and chirping around the Brown Malletwood tree, before landing for roosting. Exactly 5 minutes before magrib.

Magpie Robin in the rain

It is raining this morning. I couldn't go out for cycling or photograph the bee-eater.
So, I just hang around in my garage,  and I find this Oriental magpie Robin soaking in the rain.

Bee Eater at Taman Mutiara Raub

I was cycling around Taman Mutiara yesterday morning when I saw a flock of Bee Eaters perched very near the road.  I rush back for my camera. By the time I set up my Betterbeamer and tripod, the flock already left. Only a few perched very high on top of dead trees.

Blue-throated Bee-eater (Merops viridis)
Today I determined to get that bird. I'm not cycling. Set my photography gear and by 7.15am already parked my car near the big dead tree. Sure, at 7.20am a flock of about 30 birds perch on that tree, making noise and flying around to catch their breakfast. A few fly low and perch about 15 meters from me, and stay there for a few seconds. That is enough for me to shoot a few frames at a very high ISO2500 before the birds fly to their next destination.
Picture UPDATE:
This picture was further edited with PhotoFiltre (free for private use) and noise reduction with Noiseware Community Edition.
