Black-naped Oriole (Oriolus chinensis)

Since the papaya trees was destroyed (by this bird) in march '08, I rarely see this oriole perches near my backyard.

This two days I saw a pair feeding the ripe banana.
Here one of it willingly posed for me!.

Great shot of an essentially a scarce migrant for Sri Lanka. I had views of it on a regular basis when I was there.

Goodness me...Oriole in ur backyard?! Beautiful bird & shot.At home, I can only find dull color birds...a.k.a "boring- common birds"!We need to go up around 2000m above sea level to find an oriole, which I have yet to find unfortunately!

BTW, enjoy ur trip later in KK. Do find time to visit the aviary at Lok Kawi Wildlife Park.Obviously, Won't be as thrilling to see the birds as in the wild but the last time I went there, decent numbers of great local birds. If you happen to bring ur cam, don't forget the flash...simply a must.

Cheers!
