Yellow-vented bulbul Eye Infection

I was reviewing the old pictures from the camera when I noticed the Yellow-vented Bulb with an odd-looking eye. (The photo was taken on 23 October 2023.)

The same bird was photographed on 31/10/2023

? Worm infestation at the lower part of the eye

Intently drop the insect to tease the female

Courtship feeding is when a male bird gives food to a female bird as part of their courtship ritual.

 It's most common when courtship is over, and can be a valuable source of nutrients for the female. 

When does courtship feeding occur? 

During egg formation, during laying, and during incubation. 

What's the purpose of courtship feeding?

To provide nutrients for the female. 

The Yellow-vented Bulbul (Pycnonotus goiavier analis) is the most common bird in my backyard. Its bubbly call is a wake-up sound in our parks and gardens

The yellow-vented bulbul eats berries and small fruits. It also sips nectar, nibbles on young shoots, and consumes some insects.

Yellow vented Bulbul eats oleander hawk-moth caterpillar

Burung Merbah makan ulat beluncas.

Bulbul saw the caterpillar and jumped onto the Jasmine tree

there is my juicy breakfast

Yellow-vented Bulbul food for juveniles

Saw this Bulbul collecting many types of foods, and bringing them to a Hibiscus shrub in my front yard.

These are  the pictures that I took over many days

Perch and waiting on a banana stalk, looking around for predators or potential enemies, before feeding the chicks.

Stay vigilance guarding the nest in this hibiscus tree shrub. I  didn't see the nest, didn't want to disturb it.
