TEMERLOH

I went to Temerloh for business and spent time photographing birds and activities along the Pahang Riverbank.

The Pahang River mainly flows through the state of Pahang, Malaysia. Its drainage basin covers its Pahang and the neighboring state of Negeri Sembilan. At 459 km in length, it is the longest river on the Malay Peninsula. (Wikipedia)

River banks are a vital habitat for many birds because they provide food and shelter. 

How do river banks attract birds? 

Food: Birds are attracted to river banks to feed on fish, invertebrates, insects, crustaceans, and tadpoles

Shelter: River banks provide shelter for birds

I visited a village in Kampung Tengah and found this Grey wagtail on the TV antenna, as well as this Eurasian tree sparrow.

Sarang Burung Murai - Oriental Magpie Robin Nest

Sarang  murai di pokok kelapa depan rumah jiran saya. lebih kurang 3 meter dari aras tanah.

Murai ni tak hiraukan kawasan terbuka yang jiran selalu letak kereta di bawah pokok . 

The Oriental Magpie Robin is a garden bird that familiar to human presence. I keep a respectful distance from the nest and use a 400mm telephoto lens that maintains enough distance.

I have never climbed that tree looked for a nest, moved, or cut anything from around the nest.

Makanan Murai Kampung - Food of Oriental Magpie-Robin

About three meters from my car park, I saw an active nest on the coconut tree in my neighbor's front yard.

I was unaware of when they constructed the nest. Before I realized this, the female bird flew in with food for the hatchling. From dawn till dusk, the mother brings a variety of snacks at intervals of around ten minutes. She waited on the neighboring pole, tree, and fence instead of bringing the insects directly to the nest. She only flew to the nest when there was no threat in sight
