Golden Orb Web Spider- Giant Wood Spider ( Nephila sp.) - female
After reading from the NET, I now realized that the tiny spider below is actually male spider of.
In this case the male size is about one-tenth of the female.
I was at about 3.5meters (minimum focusing distance of my 400mm telephoto lenses) from the web. The female spider is about 5cm long and the male is about 5mm. So much difference in size. It was reported that the female spider did not even notice that he has crept up and inseminated her!

Great shots! We have a species of those spiders in our area, as well. How large do yours get?
