Birding in North East Monsoon Rain
November to March is a raining season in Malaysia, especially those in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Heavy rain not yet affected here in Raub (located in the center Malay Peninsular), but light rain in the evening becomes a norm now.
That doesn't prevent me from taking a bird picture.
The picture below shows the characteristic of a tapioca leaves, water repellent in the light drizzling rain.
Rain drops shine under a flashlight
Yellow-vented Bulbul flew away from a durian tree
A juvenile Bulbul caught under the rain on my neighbor's Pokok Longan
Grey Wagtail (Motacilla cinerea) search for food in a monsoon drain
then flew onto a rooftop to dry it self
Barn Swallow still tough it out catching an insect
Grey overcast sky
A flock of juvenile Asian Glossy Starling does a fly pass, searching for dry shelter

Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker and Mistletoe version 2015
If you find a Mistletoe and wait long enough, you will find this bird
Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker - male
Flowerpecker and Sunbird like to feed on nectar of a mistletoe plant. I also saw them also eat the mistletoe fruits

Spotted Dove courtship Rivalry Terkukur Mating Part 2
My first time seeing so many (six) Spotted Dove congregate at the same spot
Courtship rivalry - 2 males (2 birds from right) fighting over a female (right with open wings). Three birds on the left just watching the action.
Two male fighting while the female (left), watching who is the winner
one of the male tries to mount the female, but push away by his rival...
...and fighting continue...
....fighting
...the looser flew away

Spotted Dove courtship / mating rituals Part 1
Spotted Dove - (Streptopelia chinensis) - Tekukur on a coconut tree
both look at a different way, than the male slowly inch closer to the female
went closer and stop to see the female reaction
slowly walk toward the female
Wow!, she flew off
and away
the female landed at the lower leaf stalk
the couple later flew to the ground and feed together
