Water Hen

I saw this White-breasted Waterhen (Amaurornis phoenicurus) perched at my neighbor's backyard across the stream. It perched very high up at a tapioca tree's branch, above the house's roof.

This Wak-wak usually forages on the ground, at the edge of small stream here. Make a lot of noise, especially at dawn and dusk, with a trademark "ruak- ruak" call. (that's why it's got a name Wak-wak in malay)

They also often forage above ground, in low bushes and small trees, but their long toes make them rather clumsy among the branches.
