A Dead Tree Full of Live Birds - SkyWatch Friday

One lonely dead tree covered with so many live Asian Glossy Starling (Aplonis panayensis)

I found a poem at South African Poetry International Web, by Lionel Abrahams with the same tittle.

The one with the blue sky is very pretty! It'd be interesting to see what it'd look like when all the birds start flying away.

Great photos. The birds are in mass in St. Louis Mo also. It is amazing to see so many in one place.

Great photo - are they starlings? - they give some glorious displays when flying as a flock.

This is a really nice picture with all the birds congregating on this dead tree giving it in a way a new lease of like. I wish you a happy new year.

The birds brighten up and accent the trees wonderfully.

I guess a dead tree makes it easier for them to find a roost. Great SWF shot. Thanks

HiTabib, nice choice for sky watch. As an avid birder myself, I will be back to browse through your older posts

I don't think I've ever SEEN so many birds in a single 'dead' tree. Both photos are fascinating. Thanks for visiting me a Happily Retired Gal and leaving a comment with the link back here.
Hugs and blessings,

The tree might look dead but it's teaming with life. Not only the birds either. Just take a peak inside and it's probably crawling with all sorts of insect life. Anyway great shots and such a different feel between the first and the second shot.
Happy New year!

Somehow the sight of a group of birds is so cheerful, even on a dead tree. They are like live ornaments, aren't they?

Great photos. The photo with the blue sky I love most.
