Long-tailed Sibia

A very common bird at Fraser's Hill Malaysia. Some people call it Sky Rat - because of its colour and common presence at that hill station.

I like it. There's something very pretty even with seemingly "plain" or "common" birds!

Excellent shot, it is so sharp and clear. You have so many beautiful bird in Malaysia. In Taiwan, many of them are migrating birds and just passing through.

I browsed through both your Beaver posts, they are awesome and you have used the flash very well to avoid eye-shine.

This shot of the Sibia is no less. Congrats.

hi Tabib. what is it exactly? any chance you could tell us a little bit about the sky rats?

oh, by the way, do you know what a mousebird is? a smallish brown bird in africa with a very long tail and scampers about the trees like mice. very cute.

Looks like a lovely bird. A bit different from our "flying rats" (Rock Pigeons).

Lovely photo! Except for the longer tail it looks similar to our Catbird. Yours is a "rat", ours is a "cat" :-)

Thanks ALL for your comments.

They called it "Sky Rats" purely for the grey coloured and socially active move about like a rat.
Feeding on insect and their behaviour are not like the rat or Crow that scavenging for food.
