Black Laughingthrush

This is my 3rd and final Laughingthrush from the Peninsular Malaysia.
The 4th species, Sunda Laughingthrush can only be found in Sabah & Sarawak.
Black Laughingthrush (Melanocichla lugubris)
Black Laughingthrush (Garrulax lugubris) new name -> Melanocichla lugubris

Black Laughingthrush (Garrulax lugubris)

Yesterday birding/photography didn't produce many birds. The weather was dry and the bird seems to be hiding. Anyway, I am happy to find my last Laughingthrush, which is my lifer.
Met MikeBirder up there, he is using the new Canon 7D and same lens as mine.

Have a look for more bird pictures at the Bird Photography Weekly @ Birdfreak.

He looks too serious to be a "laughing" thrush! ;-) Good shots.

Ha.. Serious look because I was disturbing it breakfast foraged.
I just include the bird call/song, for you to appreciate the laughing sound.

Very well done for getting another life bird. I wasn't too sure why they called it a laughing thrush until I played the audio clip.

Great shots of the Black Laughingthrush Tabib. A very interesting looking bird with those naked black eyes and the bright orange bill.

...oh my gosh....what a face! I love how expressive it is, and that eyebrow really adds personality. Congrats on the lifebird!

Wow, the first photo is great! The Laughingthrush looks so intimidating, it doesn't seem like a "laughing" thrush. :-)
