Bird and Grasshopper

I didn't realized that this male Brown-throated Sunbird was targeting that short-horn Grasshopper until the image was upload in the computer.

I few minutes later I spotted this Eurasian Tree Sparrow (Passer montanus malaccensis) with its catch of green grasshopper.

Such a colorful bird in the first photo, and great capture of the second, enjoying its meal.

Hi Tabib. From your photo looks like your local passer montanus has a bigger (and darker) bill than our montanus in UK. Nice pics as usual.

Thanks for your comments.

Yes Phil, this is sub-species malaccensis. It is a dark race with larger bill.

Tabib what a colourful Sunbird. Interesting comment regarding the sub species of the tree sparrow as I originate from the UK too and would agree.
