Scaly-Breasted Munia Gathers Nesting Materials - bamboo leaves

The bamboo tree in my backyard attracts many birds. Some foraging for food, some for roosting, and socializing, and Munia for collecting nesting materials.

Scaly-breasted Munia or spotted munia (Lonchura punctulatafretensis)

Pipit Pinang/nutmeg manikin or spice finch

gathering bamboo leaves

choosing only the old yellow leaf

tear it off from the stem

Flew to the nest over to my neighbor's house, I didn't inspect where it was.

The male made trips to the nest. According to R.L Restall (1996) British Ornithologists, “In most, if not all species, the male brings the nesting material to the nest".
