Lesser Coucal (Centropus bengalensis)
Much better picture with clear perched this Monday morning.
Medium size bird, about 38cmThis is assuming breeding plumage adult, nape and upper back with pale buff streaking.
I noticed this bird didn't immediately swallow the meal, but just keep that green grasshopper at its beak for a long time. Maybe keeping that for courtship ritual of offering each other titbits like a leaf or grasshopper. Maybe this food is for her chicks?
I have seen the pair two days ago, but didn't managed to photograph it.
